They come back every fall, those tiresome leaves,
Painting our little garden in shades of red,
« How vexing! -Myrtille thinks, for this marks the end,
Of that lovely season, lived beneath the moon »,
As if to ward off, this inevitable fate,
That brings along the damp, chilling her pads,
With her tiny paws, tools of little use,
She sets off to gather, those detestable leaves.
