These majestic blues stretch to the horizon’s end,
Until they interweave, our perceptions blend,
Before such immensity, we feel so slight,
That at the thought of braving the abyss, I take fright,
My knees give way, my strength begins to fade,
I can only admire the explorers, unafraid,
Who, on wooden hulls, for months sailed the main,
To conquer the Ocean, holding death in disdain,
Magellan or Cartier, who stand so tall,
Make us feel, in turn, so very small.
