Heading home from work, I watched the sky above,
The sun was setting, offering countless wonders,
But the beauty of the dome stirred up a sigh,
For the mercury, once climbing far too high,
Had left us now, and dropped day by day,
Like this early setting sun, lazy in its way,
That hardly leaves its bed, and then so shyly,
So all those pearls the clouds had spun,
I’d trade for one more summer sun.
